Snake

The Yindjibarndi culture is truly unique. With its own language, traditions, customs and laws, the average whitefella can become very confused. We hope to share our beautiful culture with you, and to ensure it lives on.

Traditional Music

One of our 'jujuna' (old folk) was recorded singing a couple of traditional songs. Plus we now have the choir singing in Yindjibarndi.

Skinning a Kangaroo

One of the foods we eat most is cooked kangaroo. But before we cook it and eat it, we have to skin it!

Learn to make Damper as well.

The Aboriginal Flag

Aboriginal FlagSince the Aboriginal flag was first flown, it has become a symbol of unity for our people. The colours have specific meanings for us. We are proud of our flag.

The red stands for the land. Much of Australia's soil has a red tinge to it, and we are spiritually connected to our land. The land is sacred and of utmost importance.

The yellow stands for the sun. The black signifies our people.
